Vintage SH Japan Tin Friction Capsule Mercury

This Space Capsule Mercury - Friendship 7 - was made in Japan for SH (Horikawa) and is circa the 1960's. The tin capsule also has the HTC (Hishimo Sangyo Ltd. - Hishimo Toy Company) logo on the side which may have been the original manufacturer.

The space capsule measures approximately 9 inches long, and the lithography is bright and beautiful including the very intricately detailed cabin area.

In excellent condition with no signs of playwear , it is powered by a strong friction motor with a loud "Beep Beep" sound. No longer sparks. The astronaut - John Glenn - rotates as the spacecraft travels simulating weightlessness.

The original box is in good/fair condition with some neatly repaired tears, overall age wear, etc.. The box art is terrific.
