This is a very unusual and hard to find metal toy called Archie The Karnival Kid made by Ronson.
It is stamped "Archie A Ronson Toy" Patented Dec. 31, 1918 on the handle. The last patent date listed is July 17, 1923.
The toy was made as a sparkling party toy (Carnivals, Circus, Halloween, etc.) and remains in very good condition with only minor wear. It sparks and works well.
Inside Archie is a mechanism which has 2 abrasive wheels that spin and cause the eyes to spark when the string is pulled.
The toy measures 9" tall x 5" wide x 2.75" deep. A really interesting and odd toy that does not come along often in this condition with all original parts.
