This toy is also a great example of Japanese ingenuity, where toy manufacturers would make small changes to a toy and sell in a revised box for the next Christmas Season.

This train is old stock toy in excellent condition and working great! 

The Overland Express travels with bump and go action, whistle, lighted smoke stack and lantern, and a boy stoker that "looks around". A very heavy and well made toy that weighs almost 2 pounds. About 10 by 10 by 5 inches.

The box has some tape scars, small tears, and overall shelf wear but nothing major.
