This 3 inch long wind up tin car was made in Japan and is circa the 1950’s. A fairly heavy car with “beefier” mechanics than those made in Japan in later years. When wound, this car ran for almost 3 minutes! Includes the original key.
Works perfectly – the intricate mechanism is engaged when the vehicle is wound and placed on a level surface. In near mint condition with age patina – no rust.
Mechanical marvels like these were stocked by many museum gift shops as an educational item.
This terrific little automobile is stamped The Gallery, Amsterdam, NY, as well as Made In Japan.
